Become a Professional Dancer.

Delhi Dance Academy’s professional dance program Carbon + is the best way in Delhi to become a professional dancer. Carbon + is designed to give the student an all-pervasive look into dancing as a career. Contemporary, Jazz, Hip hop, B-boying, Salsa, Bachata, Gymnastics, constitute the Carbon + batch. Classes will be taken by various faculty members of  DDA. The course focuses on the all-round dancer and performer and provides best in the industry opportunities to perform in front of a live audience.

Structure:

Carbon Plus Professional Dancing Batch is divided into 3 levels (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3) . All levels together are for 9 months duration, requires 85% attendance. Once one finishes the 3 levels, one can get an opportunity to become an assistant professional where one can start taking basic dance classes and are given projects/events from time to time. Dancing as a career has various options – one can choose to become a dance teacher, crew member, corporate dance specialist, wedding choreographer, one can start auditioning for TV programs like Dance India Dance, India’s Got Talent and India’s Dancing Superstar, or you can explore doing research in dance.

Eligibility:

One must have basic dancing skills. Must have passed 10 + 2 and can read and write in English.

Prerequisite:

Basic level dancing skill on any dance form. One dance performance of 3 minutes..

Fees:

The total course fee for 3 levels (9  months is) Rs. 1,35,000/

2014-18 Batch Success:

Since 2014, our Carbon Plus Professional Students performed at various events in Delhi NCR. They got “excellent” ratings at events from clients like Wizcraft, Google, Apple, Select Citywalk, Ambience Mall, The Times of India, 94.3 Radio one, India Today,  and Herbalife. 3 Carbon Plus students became assistant instructors at DDA, some joined jobs in schools as dance teachers and some joined dancing careers at places like the Kingdom of Dreams.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can a beginner join Carbon Plus? 

 Carbon + is only for serious learners and therefore before we take students into the batch, we make sure that they have good musicality and body-music coordination. Prior learning is not required. A burning desire to dance is what we are looking for. So yes if you have some basic dance training before and you seriously want to make a carrier out of the dance, you can come and register for carbon plus.

2. Which centres do you have these classes?
  We conduct classes for Carbon Plus both at our Amar Colony centre: E 238, Amar Colony, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi.

3. Is Carbon Plus a certified course? 

 Delhi Dance Academy is not affiliated with any Indian Govt. Institutes as there are no institutes with western dance accreditation in India. But a certificate from Delhi Dance Academy will equip you with detailed information about what you’ve learnt and videos that you can show to universities abroad to further your dance education. It will also equip you to face the public and the camera through its shows and masterclasses.

 4. What are the future prospects of this course? 
 Carbon Plus program has been designed in such a way that it prepares and trains a student to become a dance professional. The future prospect depends very much on the capability and calibre of an individual student. Every student comes out with a different result at the end of this course, the training and the exposure received by each and everyone who is a part of this program is something that he or she has earned for himself or herself and how they decide to use it in their life from there on.

      We do have beginners level dance courses in Jazz, Contemporary, Hip hip, Salsa. If you are a complete beginner to dance I suggest please start with a couple of months of Bollywood dancing to help you with basic musicality and body coordination. To become a dance professional like any other stream you need to put some serious time in training. Yes, we do provide opportunities to our own students, once we see a talent who is interested in making a career in dancing we guide them through.

      You should start with our bollywood batch on Sat & Sun 5 pm to 6 pm. A month of bollywood will help you build up some stamina and get that rustiness out of your body. Later you can join our Jazz or Contemporary beginners batch for 3 months, post completion of which depending on the improvement that you show, we can suggest you for carbon plus professional batch.

    I love dancing and I want to join this course but I am much more interested in hip hop (in general every form under hip hop) than ballet, contemporary and jazz. But I cannot attend the weekly batch for hip hop as my place is quite far from your academy. Do you teach hip hop in this professional course along with contemporary and jazz?

      To join in our professional dance program Carbon+, you should have some dancing background before, unfortunately classes for carbon plus are available only on Sat & Sun and there is no rotational shift as such. You have to come for a contemporary trial class on sat or sun at 3 pm at our amar colony center after which we will be able to suggest you if you are ready for our professional program else you will continue with contemporary beginners and jazz beginners for a couple of months after which you can enroll for Carbon plus entire program.

      The Carbon+ professional training program has been designed in such a way that if someone does it for a year regularly and seriously you end up becoming a professional dancer by the end of the course, There is no such quarterly program in Carbon plus but yes you can join it for 3 months, you will definitely learn something but not everything. Within this program you get training in 3 dance forms, Jazz, Ballet & Contemporary. Classes are held only on Sat & Sun.

    I’ve been dancings for a really long time now. And through I didn’t take too many professional classes I’ve always choreographed and performed on multiple stages. I now do Bhangra and have gotten really well and compete internationally with my team. I’m in Delhi for 3 months and I really want an intensive program where I can challenge myself just the way I always have with different dance forms(Bollywood, swing dancing, Bhangra, a little hip hop and contemporary). So I was interested in the Carbon+ program but I like in Gurgaon and I was wondering if your program is also offered in the Gurgaon branch.

      We do not have short term courses for month basis. All the courses that we offer are structure into quarterly basis. First 3 months beginner, then intermediate and finally Improver. You will be provided certification after completing training in your respective dance form.       To be a part of professional program Carbon plus, you have to first complete a basic program of Jazz/Contemporary with us. Come and join us for the contemporary classes on Sat & Sun 3 pm to 4:30 pm & for Jazz 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

      You can come for a trial class for contemporary Sat & Sun 3 pm. The trial charges are Rs 300/- which is adjustable in the monthly fees once you join in. To be a part of our professional program Carbon+ one shopuld have a basic training in Jazz/Contemporary. You can call us on 8377053325 for any queries/doubts.

      You can join us for our beginner bollywood dance classes to start with, after a month on two once you start showing improvements you can join our beginners level Contemporary /Jazz to continue your training.

Can't decide between the gym and dancing to lose that extra weight or to stay fit in general? Here's a list of dance forms taught at Delhi Dance Academy with the average calories burnt in 1 hour:

Zumba: 500-1000
Aerobics: 500-800
Jazz Contemporary: 400-600
Bharatnatyam: 400-600
